We’re on the buses!
NEXT time you go by public transport you could be travelling on the Paul Cullen after he had a Warrington Borough Transport bus named after him.
The transport company has paid tribute to some of the town's leading figures, including the Warrington Wolves head coach, by naming a collection of buses in its fleet after them.
Paul Cullen is joined in the latest batch of recipients by chief executive of the Northwest Development Agency Steven Broomhead, Wolves chairman Lord Hoyle, the Rev Stephen Kingsnorth, of Warrington Borough Ministry, retailer Michael Hancock, of Hancock and Wood, and principal of Warrington Collegiate Paul Hafren.

Nigel Featham, managing director of WBT said: "These living heroes' whose names now adorn our buses will remind everyone of their amazing work for the community."
They are the latest group to be chosen as part of WBT's Pride of Warrington campaign that celebrates the town's well-known faces.
The scheme was launched last year with community figures the first to be recognised.
Later the honour was bestowed on Ethan Connolly, a three-year-old boy who suffers from facial cysts who is the subject of a £100,000 fundraising campaign to pay for essential operations.
Steven Broomhead said: "I am honoured that my name is being recognised alongside esteemed Warringtonians on our vital public transport system."
If anyone would like to nominate friends of family, young or old, to be acknowledged for their commitment to the community, they should contact the Warrington Guardian by sending an e-mail to vicki.stockman@guardiangrp.co.uk with a summary of why they should be honoured.

This is a late April Fools gag isnt it?
Will this bus lose it's way half way through and then the transport manager will give some cliched , half baked lame excuse about under- performance not being good enough for the Warrington public?

Well at least it would have meant one female homoured - but surely there must be some woman actually deserving of the honour.
