| Kevin Penny flies down the wing en route to a sensational try |
THE emotions of yesterday's enthralling cup tie between Warrington and Wolves could not be summed up better than in these pictures of Kevin Penny taken by Warrington Guardian photographer Mike Boden.
In the first picture below, Penny celebrates his wonder try with the army of Warrington supporters.
In the second picture below, Penny doubles up in disappointment with the end result being another close defeat to the arch enemy.

kev penny will become a great winger,he is already there in attack, just need to work on defence and anticipation, ithink the lad is taking it personally when the team lose, its a team effort at the end of the day.i have to say that a couple of decisions by the ref were dubious, and johnson definitley has the ball reefed with two saints players in the tackle as he was at their try line.come on the wire

3 games agaist saints this year 3 losses all because of penny. he cant defend. he can score but it s not all about scoring on the wing. every game we have been wining but them 10 minuets late and a few trys down pennys wing he messes it up for us again leave before the NBA dont want you.

Keep your head up Kev. Awesome try - great finishing. Like DNK said, its a team effort so we shouldnt be pointing the finger at individuals. A repeat performance next weekend should see us cruise past the pies!

Kevin Penny is an outstanding find for Warrington. I don't see how one man on the wing can defend against 2 or 3 opposition players - isn't he suppose to have support on his inside. He is the only one of the team who isn't scared to go close to the fans win or lose - I love watching Warrington - go home and away but I am sometimes disgusted with their lack of appreciation of the support the fans give to them. Kevin Penny never ignores us - is the first to appreciate it and I for one think we should all get behind Kevin Penny because without doubt he is a superstar for the future and we want him at Warrington...

Penny's try was the ultimate highlight of that game - I didn't know I could still jump that high!
For those of us who remember watching Brian Bevin, his defence was hardly worth writing home about, but he was covered by his centre and full back. That was because the team knew how valuable he was in attack.
Penny is very young, and new to SL, so let's give him time to sort out his tackling.
Perhaps little Glees could give him some lessons? He was outstanding on Saturday, as were the rest of the forwards, and I hope Clarky isn't going to get his starting place back automatically. Glees tackles well and offers more from acting half back.
Anyway, left the ground on Saturday disappointed, but not despondent, and am just building myself up to watch the game on DVD.
It was a cracking effort, especially in view of the pre game and mid game injuries, and the team played with purpose and pride. That is all we have been asking for all season.
Great effort.

Just one other thought - perhaps Little Glees could also include Briers in his tackling lessons.

agree with BJ the youngsters did us proud on saturday,Penny's try was another world class try, to have such a gem in our team, excites me.When he gets the ball you just wonder if its going to be better than the last try. How many excellent try's has this kid given us, we talk about this try and next game he comes up with another. Moast teams are lucky if they see one great try in a season, with Penny he comes up with them as a matter of every day occurance. The team with not standing the injuries, were top draw. What cracking performances, they have produced lately. Keep it up WIRE!!!!.

Everyone rants n raves says kev penny is going to be a great winger but nobody even mentions what chris riley brings to the team, yeah ok he wont score half as many try's but he hardly concds any either unlike kev penny, riley has a long rugby back groud n an understanding of how to read the game n will put his body on the line to not shy out of tackles like his friend does!!! so yeah kev penny will be good, but people should look at the players who work the hardest, not players that will concide just as many as they score!!!
