Hospitals miss target
THERE were no new cases of MRSA reported at Warrington and Halton Hospitals in March, according to board papers.
But over the year 2007/08 18 patients have caught the superbug, taking the trust over the Government target of 12.
However eight of these were acquired outside of the hospital.
But the hospitals have beaten Government targets for Clostridium difficile rates, with 383 cases in 2007/08.
The target is 432. In March there were 32 cases.
And infections for the year dropped by 44 percent compared to the previous year.
